I have been feeling a little 'Cabin Fever' going on this last week. So last night Josh and I were talking about things the kids and I could do to get out of the house. He suggested playing in the snow, hiking up the mountain....I didn't think that sounded like much fun, especially with my big belly and it's been FREEZING!! Since we live in a pretty small town there isn't a whole lot to do, so I knew I was going to have to get creative and I was just going to have to suck it up and face the cold weather. :)
But then an idea came to me, what if we painted the snow. Here's what we did.
We got empty water bottles and drilled a hole (or two) into each lid.
Thanks Daddy for making the holes!
Then we filled each bottle with water and added a few drops of food coloring in each bottle.
Next we went outside and painted the snow! Not only did Kameron and Taelyn love it, but our little cat, Tom, loved it too.
We put the bottles into a basket and put them in a sled, that way I could just pull the sled with the bottles. It made it easier for picture taking.
Then we walked and painted.
Then we stopped to draw a smiley face for Daddy to see. And so I could take a picture.
But as you can see they weren't very interested in taking pictures.
We had to stop and re-fill our bottles and then it was back out to paint the snow.
We decided to leave Dad a little message.
I think the 'snow painting' was a Success! They didn't want to come inside, but our bottles were pretty much done after 3 rounds of painting.
